Ever have a hard time describing your personal design style? When browsing for home inspiration on HGTV, Netflix, or social media, which styles are you drawn to? Modern Farmhouse, Boho Chic, Rustic, Transitional, light and airy, clean and earthy?
Do you love exposed wooden beams, neutral colors, and large glamorous light fixtures? Barn wood doors or a white palette with minimal decor? Clean lines? Ornate furniture? A little of some, a lot of everything?
It can definitely feel overwhelming when asked to describe your personal design style! Design is easy to copy when you like this room or that fixture; you go and buy all the things and boom you’ve recreated your dream space. But do you know your own personal style? Do you prefer a mix of styles? Would you like some help? 🙂

…..is definitely a mix!
Modern Rustic meets Transitional. A mix of modern, traditional, and natural elements with a hint of airiness and glam!
My Christmas tree is a perfect example of the different elements of my personal style. This year I decorated it with a combination of white and gold wired ribbon, burlap ribbon, red and gold sequined balls, plaid bows, feathers, pinecones with crystal drops, large white poinsettias, and gold stems. A gorgeous mix of elements that work perfect together!
Knowing your design style is essential when simply shopping for decorative pieces to styling a brand new home. Once you have a clear vision of your own personal style, making future design decisions will be much easier!
